The BRGC Junior's program.

What: Berwyn Rod and Gun Club Juniors Program
When: Every Saturday 10am-12pm
Where: BRGC 100 yard range
Who: Youths under the age of 21
Why: To teach safe handling of firearms and marksmanship skills

About the Program
Our program is available to all youth who are old enough to pay attention, up to 21 years old. (Until December 31st of the year they turn 21.)

This program is designed to teach juniors safe handling of firearms and the skills required to participate in marksmanship matches.

This program is:
* Free
* No membership required
* Open to the public
* Taught by NRA qualified firearms instructors and coaches

The club furnishes all rifles, ammunition, and safety equipment to the participants.

Every third Saturday of the month, we will engage in Archery in lieu of firearms. Please see juniors archery calendar item for additional information.

Tuesday Morning Trap Shoot (14 Apr 2026)

Trap shooting every Tuesday morning on Range 9 at the Prince Georges Trap and Skeet Center, 10400 Good Luck road, Glenn Dale, MD. Shooters show up starting at about 10:30 am and the first squad goes off when enough shooters have arrived or at 11 am. Shooting continues until everyone present has finished shooting.

Shotguns must have a barrel length of at least 23 inches. Ammunition is limited to lead shot of size 7 1/2 or smaller with a maximum velocity of 1200 feet per second. The range office sells ammunition and range tickets that pay for the use of the range. The club shotgun chairperson may also have discounted range tickets available for purchase at the shoots.

2026 Tea and Targets (17 May 2026)

Tea and Targets is the premiere ladies only shooting and social event in the state of Maryland. The ladies begin with a targeting competition using .22 caliber rifles and pistols; or any rimfire handgun of their choosing. Afterwards, the gentlemen of the club serve the ladies an English high tea, complete with classical 18th century music in the background. Ladies are requested to dress appropriately for an outdoor shooting event.

This event is open to the public. We are asking the ladies who wish to attend to register their desire to attend.

This ability is traditionally known as mastering the 'Rifleman's Quarter Mile' and is an American tradition that has been part of this nation from its very first days. MD DNR Shooter Qualification - Shotgun, Muzzleloader and Rifle Qualifications (23 Aug 2026)

Maryland DNR Shooter Qualification and Firearms Sight-In Event.

Shotgun, Muzzleloader and straight wall cartridge rifle.

BRGC will provide an Official Maryland DNR Qualification Card which is required to hunt on certain state and federal property, as well as specified managed hunts throughout the season.

BRGC is charging $10 per person to non BRGC members for the DNR Qualification. This service is Free for BRGC members.

BRGC will will charge an additional $5 per firearm to assist with sighting in any firearms that may need it prior to qualification.
